Deborah Capobianco – Broomfield
I joined Club Level3 about a year ago, had a milestone birthday coming up and I realized I needed to start taking better care of myself. I was active when I was younger but I now sit all day long and it has really started to show. I signed up for lots of different classes and found the ones that I liked best. I have really enjoyed the early morning classes and even though I have not lost any weight I feel so much better. My cholesterol levels are now in range as well as my glucose and it has also helped my blood pressure. I really appreciate all the personal attention as well when I am in a class. If I am not able to do a specific movement or exercise instead of feeling self-conscious I am always given an alternative movement to do. That one-on-one attention is what keeps me coming back!! I really enjoy the classes I go to and would advise anyone thinking about trying the gym to go for it.

I like traveling, reading, watching reality tv (ha!), and socializing with friends and family. We (my husband and I) go to Mexico every year for our anniversary, but we’ve also traveled to Australia (he proposed on Bondi Beach), NZ, and England. We’ve been married 14 years this year, and we’ve been together for 20 after we met online. As he likes to joke “in a chat room on AOL 2.0”.
We had a really bumpy 2016 after our house flooded and had to be stripped down to the studs in December 2015. We moved in with our in laws for 4 months while renovations were taking place. I offered to do most of the cooking for the 6 of us (they have 2 kids) as they graciously let us stay there for free. During those 4 months I was cooking foods I like to eat, that I knew the kids would eat as well. I slowly started gaining any weight I had lost after gaining almost 30 pounds when I quit smoking in 2009. I was working out some, not a lot, but the food was terrible for any sort of weight loss maintenance I had held on to for a couple years.
In April of this year I finally got sick of feeling sick/sluggish/fat/unhealthy and decided to make some changes. I joined Weight Watchers, for some people it’s tedious to count/measure food, but I find it to be kind of like a game. Their plan works for me, and while I’m still a work in progress I’m on the right track. I work out in classes with Mel almost every day of the week that classes are offered unless a work commitment comes up, then I try to motivate to go downstairs and work out. I also belong to Lifetime Fitness so attend classes there some nights after work, and Saturdays/Sundays sometimes a couple classes in a row on both of those days.
Having a fitness center right downstairs and an instructor who is so accommodating to specific people (she misses modifying things for me when I’m on PTO, LOL) is fantastic for this entire building. I really hope this acquisition doesn’t change anything for us, it’s such a benefit for everyone who uses it.

Having a fitness center located at work has made my transition from couch potato to a 5K once a month person not only easy but enjoyable. The staff has always made me feel welcome and help me push myself in my journey either through personal training, classes or asking me about the last race I ran or the next race that I have signed up for. With this support I have now run 6 half marathons, planning for my first Marathon.

Club Level 3 is an outstanding employee benefit. I started off with Melanie’s water challenge in June 2016. Drinking 12 to 16 glasses of water a day for a month was a gateway to a healthy lifestyle.
Also in June, I began the Real Appeal program where the coach recommended yoga as a beneficial exercise. Last September I went to Melanie’s Flow Stretch class and told her I wanted try yoga. Melanie recommended Sue’s Monday class. I am so grateful she did.
I fell in love with yoga. All the classes are filled with heartfelt, positive energy. Sue and Jordan made yoga click with their passionate teaching.
Club Level 3 is so convenient, I now make exercise a priority and schedule regular classes. It has been a bonus to meet friendly, health-conscious coworkers.
Zumba was the next class I tried. I still remember the first song, “Set it off” by Timomatic. I told Karen that I can easily get lost trying to follow an aerobics instructor. Karen said, “Just watch my feet.” Now Zumba is 45 minutes of dancing and energetic movement. Karen’s motto is: “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!”
It has been fun trying different classes.
- Power Vinyasa Yoga. Jordan always has a special intention for the class. A recent example is: “Your breath should be like your life, deep and strong.”
- Functional Fitness with Melanie. 30 minutes filled with cardio, strength and flexibility.
- The best kept secret is the 10 to 15-minute meditation on Tuesdays. It is a mini vacation.
- The camaraderie of Kickball. The spectacular mountain view from the PR-6 parking lot.
- Outdoor boot camp.
- The Turkey Trot 1-Miler.
- Cardio Kickboxing.
- Sue’s guided mediation.
- Sydney’s yoga sculpt.
- Nicole’s moon salutation yoga that took place during the solar eclipse.
- Chef Libby’s lunch and learns have been a treat. Chef Libby demonstrates delicious, simple. nutritious recipes. She has an enthusiastic sense of humor.
- Maintain Don’t Gain.
- Pound with Kelly.
Thank you, Melanie for making Club Level 3 a welcoming place to exercise. The joke in the monthly flyer always makes me smile. You have done a fabulous job of hiring instructors.
Russ Treybal – Broomfield
I am a proud father of two, both of whom are in college, and fortunate to have been married to my wife for nearly 25 years. When I’m not handing out money to my kids, maintaining my home, or running errands, I can be found in either a sand trap, creek bed or in an adjacent fairway at the local golf course or displaying my amazing *chuckle* skills within a bowling alley.
I decided to join Club Level 3 after talking with my doctor and being told my blood pressure was a little high and my cholesterol levels were rising. The image of my family having to watch my health deteriorate was not one I was willing to accept. It’s then when I took the initiative to join the gym, utilizing the cardio and strength equipment provided and especially taking advantage of the free group exercise classes provided.
Since that initial doctor appointment, I have lowered my bad cholesterol levels and raised the good, my blood pressure is no longer of any concern, lost 30 pounds and met some wonderful individuals along the way. Being in my 50’s I would have NEVER thought of competing in any Fitness competition, but thanks to the wonderful Club Level 3 staff (thanks Rob and Heidi) I will be competing in my first Cross Fit competition in Oct’17.
Since walking through the Club Level 3 doors for the first time, from a health perspective, my life has completely changed for the better. I can’t thank enough Club Level 3, it’s amazing staff and others within the facility who have supported and encouraged me. I truly believe having access to this facility and its staff is one of the best benefits provided by Level 3.
